Highland Games
In March 2018, Camden joined the ranks of South Carolina cities Charleston, Greenville, Clover, and
Columbia to host a NASGA-certified Highland Games. NASGA, the North American Scottish Games Athletics,
was founded in 1976 and is dedicated to the promotion and understanding of Scottish Heavy Events

The 2024 games will be held during the 8th Annual Irish Fest Camden on Saturday, March 2nd, beginning at
9:00 am (gates open to the public at 9:30 am) on the grounds of Historic Camden Revolutionary War Park.
This venue is one of the most historical and beautiful on the HG circuit and a great way to kick off the
Carolinas Season.
Registration opens January 1, 2024 for Open and Masters for both Men and Women with a $30 registration
fee. Group size is limited. Participants receive lunch and t-shirt. Events include: Putting the Stone 20#, 56#
Weight Throw, 28# Weight Throw, 22# Hammer Throw, Caber Toss, 20# Sheaf Toss, 56# Weight Toss. *Time
permitting: Braemar Stone and Light Hammer. Prizes awarded for each group.
The Athletic Director for the IFC Highland Games is Rick Norred. Mr. Norred is a former heavy event athlete
and is now a judge and athletic director throughout the southeast. Registration opens soon. Watch this space for more details.
